This chapter engages with migration film festivals across the global divide. A series of study cases will be considered from a descriptive and iterative development perspective. This chapter will also offer the main findings of our research that came through the implementation of the fieldwork and methodology. The results have been tailored to encompass the primary facets of our work. First, we delve into the discourse surrounding self-image in migration film festivals, considering their respective visions and missions. Second, we present the findings pertaining to the curation of migration films, examining the limitations and challenges involved in this process and how it impacts the social role of MFFs. Additionally, we explore the programming dynamics concerning partnerships, promotion, and outreach within this context. The findings will also show the variety and scope of the after-screening activities as prolegomenon to film reception. The chapter will conclude with some proposals about the challenges and the innovation of migration film festivals as drawn from survey respondents and interviewees, viewed through the lens of critical reflection.
