Brain Cancer
摘要
Glioblastoma is the most common malignant tumor of the adult central nervous system and is hallmarked by high proliferation of tumor cells with increased cellularity and necrosis. Failure to respond to standard therapy, including surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, prompts the development of alternative treatment modalities. Natural isothiocyanates such as sulforaphane and phenethyl isothiocyanate possess strong in vitro and in vivo antitumor activities [1]. The isothiocyanate iberin (sulforaphane sulfoxide analog) is comparable to sulforaphane and phenylethyl isothiocyanate’s antitumor properties.
