Neurodegenerative disorders (NDDs) are expected to overtake cancer as the leading cause of mortality. Neurons, the building blocks of the CNS, are incapable of reproducing or replacing themselves. Cell loss will be permanent once the damage is imminent [1]. Misfolded proteins, oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, excitotoxicity, and, of course, neuronal death are common features of various diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), Huntington’s disease (HD), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) [2, 3].
