摘要

The integration of silicate xerogel into the poly-cotton fabric represents a significant advancement in the realm of thermal insulation. By harnessing the exceptional attributes of xerogel, including its remarkable thermal conductivity, fire resistance, hydrophobicity, and low density, this research endeavors to pioneer a novel class of insulating materials. Through a meticulous process, the xerogel is strategically introduced into the multiscale pores of the poly-cotton fabric. This deliberate integration facilitates the creation of nano porosity while minimizing macro porosity. The outcome is a material that excels in confining air within its structure, thereby enhancing its overall thermal insulation properties. Furthermore, surface modifications applied to the poly-cotton fabric have yielded a substantial increase in hydrophobicity, as evidenced by a notably high contact angle exceeding 125º. This development opens exciting prospects for applications in environments where moisture resistance is paramount. The implications of this research extend far beyond mere innovation. The results obtained from this study hold the potential to revolutionize the production of materials characterized by attributes such as affordability, sustainability, lightweight construction, enhanced protection, and a reduced environmental footprint. This groundbreaking work paves the way towards a future where cutting-edge materials not only redefine industry standards but also contribute to a more sustainable and ecologically conscious world.
