The use of textile materials in modern architecture represents a significant shift in design approaches. These materials bring together technical precision and aesthetic appeal, producing innovative solutions that enhance energy efficiency and environmental comfort. With a focus on energy conservation, the building envelope, which acts as an interface between interior and exterior spaces, has become crucial. Textile fibers have emerged as transformative agents that enable structural weight reduction, leading to innovations in construction materials and filtration techniques. This research examines the intricate process of designing textile materials for building envelopes. It highlights the role of architects, designers, and engineers in the collaborative efforts that produce sustainable and functional designs with aesthetic appeal. The design process proposed here offers a roadmap for architects and engineers to define objectives, analyze the site, choose materials, and create structural frameworks.
