A Life Cycle Assessment of an Asphalt Mixture with Steel Slag and Reclaimed Asphalt
摘要
In the context of sustainable road construction, this study conducts a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate the environmental impact of an innovative asphalt mixture incorporating Steel Slag Aggregate (SSA) and Reclaimed Asphalt (RA), with a specific focus on the production phase. The research compares this innovative mixture with a conventional one utilizing Natural Aggregate (NA) and emphasizes the efficient utilization of recycled materials in the pavement industry. The findings indicate that the innovative mixture demonstrates substantial advantages, such as a 23% reduction in Global Warming Potential (GWP) and 58% less Water Deprivation Potential (WDP), highlighting its environmental and sustainable road construction benefits.
