Different Types of Manipulation in Sport
摘要
Increased money inflow into sports and its globalisation have triggered a number of dysfunctions, manipulations and corrupt practices over the last four decades or so, creating a so-called dark side of sport. Among those which represent a fundamental threat to even the existence of a sport are doping and match-fixing. For each of these, the chapter presents an economic analysis of the phenomenon and its growth and uses the framework to propose policy approaches aimed at mitigation.
