The sports industry is today referred to as the sports entertainment industry, where the financial aspect has come a long way aside from the on-field entertainment and action. Digital technology and client happiness have additionally evolved to support and facilitate sports industry. Teams that succeed in modern sports employ analytics mostly for two primary purposes. Firstly, the teams can increase their connection and interaction with their consumers, fans, and spectators in using multiple platforms to interact with their supporters and broaden their following. Secondly, the results of the analytics can be used to improve their games by using competitor analysis or tracking and studying the game of their own players. The most important factors in this sector are social media analytics, coupled with its effects on the team, the business, and performance analytics. The teams are using web-based techniques to analyse fan mood and determine what the supporters are requesting in an effort to forge close relationships with the fans. Since the previous 2–3 years, digital advertising campaigns have increased as well since they let clubs and leagues be extravagant and offer uniqueness. With the use of analytics, sports management additionally discovered the secret to variable and dynamic ticket pricing. Now that they are aware of the games where supporters are prepared to spend more, they can set the price of the tickets accordingly. Analytics thus have enabled the clubs to capitalize on their popularity and expand their current fan bases.
