Unlocking Sustainable Development: Reducing Wealth and Income Disparities for a Prosperous Tomorrow
摘要
India holds the position of the third-largest economy globally when measured by purchasing power parity and the sixth-largest by nominal GDP. Notably, the nation has achieved substantial strides in alleviating poverty. Nevertheless, the government grapples with a significant issue of economic inequality. Inequality continues to be a significant issue in India that affects economic and social development. To end poverty, protect the environment, and ensure that everyone lives in peace and prosperity, the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015. The SDGs have been included in India's national development policies, and the country has committed to attaining them by 2030. The Indian situation lends itself very well to several SDGs. SDG 1 seeks to eradicate all types of poverty, which is a top goal for India, given its high poverty rate. In a nation where most of the population works in agriculture, SDG 2 aims to end hunger, achieve food security, and promote sustainable agriculture.
