摘要

This study identifies a significant research gap in the literature concerning the relationship between psychological well-being and employee absenteeism, particularly within Apollo Tyres Ltd in Kerala. Despite various interventions, the company has faced persistent absenteeism issues, impacting productivity and organizational performance. The research employs a descriptive design, utilizing both primary data from a standardized questionnaire and secondary data from HR department records to investigate the influence of psychological well-being on absenteeism. Analyzing responses from 105 employees out of a workforce of 598 using SPSS, the study uncovers a demographic predominance of long-term, male employees within a specific income range who enjoy job stability and hold a positive view of their work environment and relationships with colleagues. While a substantial appreciation for job roles and work culture was evident, contrasting views and communication issues highlight potential areas for workplace conflicts. These findings suggest that while psychological well-being has a notable effect on attendance, the complexity of interpersonal relationships and job satisfaction are also critical factors. The study’s insights aim to facilitate the development of targeted strategies to reduce absenteeism and improve organizational outcomes in the manufacturing sector.
