“Beyond Borders: Examining the Trade and Investment Relations of India with South Africa”
摘要
South Africa and India share a longstanding history marked by significant associations, including Mahatma Gandhi's impactful stay in South Africa. The historical backdrop also encompasses the influence of South Africa's racial policies on the evolution of political activism. Both nations consider their relationship strategically important yet competitive. This paper delves into the critical examination of trade and investment relations between India and South Africa. Employing analytical and descriptive approaches, statistical tools such as descriptive statistics, Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR), Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR), correlation, and regression are utilized. The study reveals a notable upswing in the trend of trade and investment between the two nations, supported by positive CAGR and AAGR figures. Emphasizing the need for stability in trade, the paper concludes that there exists a significant positive correlation between imports and exports, both exerting a substantial impact on total trade. The study underscores the importance of considering both imports and exports as crucial factors for economic growth, as an imbalance in either can lead to deficits in foreign exchange or commodities.
