Determinants of Myocardial Oxygen Consumption and Delivery

The physiological basis of myocardial oxygen delivery is reviewed. The ventricular pressure–volume relationship and time-varying elastance model are used to provide a framework for understanding the determinants of myocardial oxygen demand.
