Free Vibrations of a System with Single Degree of Freedom (SDOF)

This chapter presents the study of free vibrations of a system with single degree of freedom (SDOF) and the following topics are discussed: analysis of free vibration, components of the basic dynamic system such as degrees of freedom, mass, elastic properties of the system, equation of motion for (SDOF), damping that including critically damped system, over-critically damped system, under-critically damped system, no damped system, as well as the total energy of the vibrating mechanical system and applicable problems and solutions.
