Fascias and Ligaments

Fasciae and ligaments are structures composed of fibrous connective tissue that covers, connects or supports other tissues and organs. Knowing their anatomy is of utmost importance for the gynecologic surgeon, since it is often necessary to approach these structures or visualize these anatomical landmarks in order to safely access certain sites of the pelvis.
