Comparing the Performance of Traditional and Autonomous Tractors in Maize Sowing: An Overall Evaluation of Agricultural Robot Adoption

This study conducts a comparative analysis between traditional and autonomous tractors in the context of maize sowing. The aim is to assess the efficiency of both systems in terms of time required for task completion, incorporating effective working and accessory times. Additionally, a model to estimate the power needs relative to the area covered is developed. The research method involves a direct comparison of performance, alongside an evaluation of the broader implications of adopting autonomous tractor technology. This includes understanding the operational knowledge required, as well as weighing the advantages and challenges associated with these systems. The results reveal a marked difference in time efficiency, underscoring the potential benefits of autonomous tractors in improving agricultural productivity.
