Contributions of Functional Analytic Psychotherapy for the Development of More Transdiagnostic Interventions in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies
摘要
The objective of this chapter is to present the contributions of Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) to Transdiagnostic Interventions in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT). FAP is a Third-Generation approach from CBT that uses the therapeutic relationship as a strategy to promote more effective interpersonal and intimacy repertoires. In line with the transdiagnostic model, FAP was not developed for a specific disorder or contains a protocol that can be easily replicated. Through the five postulated rules, the therapist is guided to develop a functional and idiographic analysis to identify Clinically Relevant Behaviors (problems and improvements). Intimacy is a key concept in FAP, and intimacy issues appears across a large number of clinical conditions and psychiatric disorders. Given it’s transdiagnostic importance is also intended to discuss the contributions of FAP in CBT´s interventions that have intimacy as a therapeutic target.
