摘要

In this chapter, case conceptualization and therapeutic alliance will be addressed based on the treatment of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Case conceptualization in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is a way of understanding the case in detail, with regard to the intensity, duration, and frequency of emotional suffering. Furthermore, it helps the therapist to promote a treatment plan mapped out individuality. Based on an empirical and collaborative model, the therapist and client will develop a therapeutic alliance that favors the course of treatment. This collaborative relationship between therapist and client is based on trust, empathy, and validation. It promotes open communication, where the therapist can work on psychoeducation throughout the process and can be associated with better treatment outcomes such as symptom reduction, greater adherence to therapeutic techniques, and improvement in psychological well-being. Therapeutic strategies are negotiated and implemented with client feedback in the context of an educational and inquisitive therapist’s stance.
