Laparoscopic Anterior Resection
摘要
Sphincter preservation in rectal surgery is a primary goal whenever feasible with low anterior resection a very useful surgical option. The appropriate staging of the tumor, evaluation, and optimization of patient comorbidities, fitness status, and expertise of the surgeon are crucial to a favorable outcome. There is a learning curve for skills needed for laparoscopic anterior resection which can be readily overcome in a high-volume academic center practice.
