Laparoscopic Colectomy

Patients who have laparoscopic procedures have much more to gain. As a minimum, they can return to gainful employment sooner than if they had undergone the same procedure through a laparotomy. There are significant challenges to be overcome—equipment, funding, training—however the stark benefits for patients undergoing laparoscopic colonic resections demand we try to overcome these, for the sake of our patients.
