The application of laparoscopic techniques to surgical procedures is well-established in colostomy creation. Stomas improve, palliate, and facilitate several complex situations and play an integral role in surgical decision-making. Proper patient education and cooperation in the care of a stoma are essential for optimal outcomes. There is a need for technical considerations on the site of a stoma for a favorable long-term outcome.
