Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision
摘要
Transanal total mesorectal excision (taTME) is a more recent useful ‘bottom-up’ tool in the surgical armamentarium for mid and low rectal cancer. Despite the potential benefits of the procedure, there is a concern for widespread and unmonitored adoption of taTME as it is a challenging operation even in the hands of an experienced laparoscopic surgeon and requires considerable skills. Structured training with the requisite learning curve for erstwhile trained surgeons is needed for competence.
