Laocoon: Hands-On!

This chapter presents the problematics discussed in the book’s other five chapters, and presents the idea of Pasolini as a “laocoonic” artist, i.e., as an artist who compared and worked through uniting, side by side, different arts during his life, including painting, comics, film, puppet theater (teatro dei pupi) and many other arts. The opening chapter also presents some central themes of Pasolini’s work, like mimesis and some of his political thought.
