Virtual Classroom Leveling Model Based on Self-regulation for the Higher Technological Institute “San Isidro”

Technology has been part of the educational system for years, but its application has not reached unprecedented levels of utilization compared to the present time, where the COVID-19 pandemic has led educational institutions to include virtual education, which has been applied in an emergent manner. The objective of this research was to design a virtual classroom model, based on self-regulation of learning and supported by information technologies, to meet the learning achievements in the subject of Mathematics of the first year students of Gastronomy and Financial Administration of the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Universitario San Isidro, through a projective study with documentary research of the institution's database and analysis with box and whisker diagrams for the different variables measured. The virtual classroom was designed according to Pintrich's self-regulated learning model and the ADDIE constructivist instructional design model, which are coupled to form an adequate methodology for virtuality. It was shown that students did not use self-regulation in their learning due to factors such as the distribution of time between work and study and, in some cases, family responsibilities, and it was also shown that the process of self-regulation should be acquired as a study habit.
