摘要

This case study examines the strategic initiatives undertaken by Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) to enhance its global brand competitiveness in the face of increasing challenges within the global aviation industry. As one of the oldest and most renowned airlines in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region, Thai Airways has historically prioritized quality services and passenger convenience to maintain its competitive edge. However, the emergence of low-cost carriers and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant hurdles, leading to significant financial challenges in recent years. To address these challenges, Thai Airways implemented various strategies, including the establishment of subsidiaries such as Thai Smile Airways Company Limited to target different market segments and diversify its offerings. The company also focused on upgrading its fleet, enhancing passenger experiences, and adapting its branding strategy to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving market. Despite facing adversity, Thai Airways remains emblematic of Thailand’s aspirations to become a prominent aviation hub in Southeast Asia. This case underscores the importance of adapting to changing market dynamics, prioritizing customer satisfaction, and maintaining a balance between service excellence and affordability to sustain competitiveness in the airline industry.
