Computer-Generated MMI-Type Visible Multi-wavelength Combiner with Monitor Branch Using Zr-Doped PLC
摘要
We fabricated a multimode interference (MMI)-type visible multi-wavelength combiner with a monitor branch by using a Zr-doped planar lightwave circuit (PLC), which is a more highly blue-light resistant waveguide compared with a conventional Ge-doped PLC, for a compact and high-power light source. The combiner was designed with a computer optimization method called the wavefront matching method. The fabricated combiner was 7.5 µm wide and 900 µm long and had a main port transmittance of approximately -1.0 dB and a monitor branch ratio of approximately 2% at R, G and B wavelengths.
