Thermo-optical Robustness of Crystalline Sb2Se3/Si Waveguides at 1310 nm
摘要
In recent years, there has been a rising effort in developing chalcogenides for integrated photonics due to their reversible and non-volatile material transition, which entails a large refractive index change, thereby enabling ultra-compact devices. Antimony selenide (Sb2Se3) has arisen for applications requiring high-performance phase shifters due to its negligible absorption loss in both states at datacom and telecom wavelengths. This work experimentally demonstrates the thermo-optical robustness of crystalline Sb2Se3/Si waveguides in the range from 20 ℃ to 65 ℃. We show that our hybrid waveguide benchmarks similar performance against a standard silicon waveguide, thereby maintaining fully compatibility with silicon photonic temperature control systems.
