Integrated Mode-Selective Repeater for Free-Space Optical Communications
摘要
A silicon photonic integrated circuit is designed and fabricated to couple and regenerate arbitrary beams for free-space optical communications. The mode-selectivity is achieved through self-configuration of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer diagonal. A transmission experiment using 25 Gbps modulated data demonstrates the advantages of using this free-space repeater in the case of arbitrary overlapping beams.
