The Focused Integrated Team-based Treatment for Bipolar Disorder (FITT-BD) is a novel treatment delivery system for bipolar disorder (BD) that integrates elements of stepped care, collaborative care, and learning healthcare system models. The aims of FITT-BD are to improve access to care for patients with BD, improve adherence to treatment, and help patients develop skills for self-management of BD symptoms. This chapter reviews the background research informing the development of FITT-BD and details the structure of the FITT-BD clinic, including how interventions are delivered and tailored to individual patients’ needs. A case example is provided to illustrate each stage of treatment in FITT-BD.
