Experiences and Challenges of Syrian Refugee Youth in Iceland

Due to the increasing number of young refugees in Europe, their right to an equitable, just education has been acknowledged. This chapter focuses on the educational and social experiences and the challenges faced by young Syrian refugees in Iceland. The overall findings of this chapter indicated that despite the multiple challenges faced by these young population, they were doing well both academically and socially, they referred to the important role that their teachers, friends, family, sense of belonging and time played in their education.
