Digital Transformation of Learning Environment by Using Mobile Technologies

The educational environment very often goes through certain transformations. Since the appearance of people on Earth, there has been a need for education given to children. In the beginning the education process was carried out by families that educate their own children. Then when some specialists should educate other people, so the learning environment has a new transformation to education through the disciples, then as it was necessary to educate a larger number of people, schools appeared where more people were educated. When the computer came to be used by many people, education went through a new transformation, this transformation being a digital one and the term used for the new paradigm of education being E-Learning. By this new paradigm education is carried out through online platforms accessed from computers. Since mobile devices have come to be used in a greater proportion than computers, education is undergoing a new digital transformation. Students and trainees have come to prefer to use mobile devices in the education process: M-Learning. In this chapter, we present the advantages of using mobile devices in education through various examples of applications that are already in use as well as how to develop these mobile applications that are used in the educational environment. Since the field allows the realization of a very large number of applications, it is also important to determine the quality of these applications developed for the educational field. Also, within this material, we present some methods for determining the quality of mobile applications in the educational environment. Methods that are used to rank applications and the possibility of making recommendations regarding the categories of applications that are used in the educational field.
