Marking of Goods
摘要
Experts are generally in agreement that the marking of the goods is an essential part of the packaging. This opinion is reinforced by a series of court judgments. For example, in a judgment by the Duisburg Landgericht (regional court) in Germany, a company’s claim for damages was rejected because the markings (handling symbols) necessary for safe handling of a package were missing. Worldwide, various domestic traffic regulations are almost unanimous in requiring that the shipper of a package must mark their packaging in such a way that the marking is permanent, clearly visible and cannot be misunderstood.
