Carcinogenesis

This chapter discusses the process of carcinogenesis as a genetic disease, briefly evaluating the tumour evolution over time; the most accredited theories are also presented. Neoangiogenesis and glycolysis are explained as the basis for specific diagnostic imaging tests. Hereditary mutations associated with increased risk of developing breast cancer BC are mentioned, as well as the degrees of relative risk in family history.
