Mammography Report: Cytological and Microhistological Sampling: Stereotactic Biopsy

This chapter deals with breast biopsy, cytological (FNAC) and microhistological (CNB) or tru cut, but above all with stereotaxis (VAB), in which the figure of the radiographer is of fundamental importance. The physical-technological prerequisites of VAB are explained, and the procedure to be followed, including the preparation and positioning of the patient, step by step, in particular for the chair stereotactic system. The problem of clip migration is mentioned; a paragraph is devoted to the localisation of non-palpable lesions.
