Main Artefacts on Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM)
摘要
This chapter defines what an artefact is in general, and in particular in full-field digital mammography (FFDM), to which is added a new artefacts categorisation, according to the Poggi method. The most common artefacts of the two standard projections are described in detail, and explanation and solutions are given for each. It is also clearly indicated in which anatomical portions the presence of artefacts invalidate the diagnosis, and what the correlation is with the patient’s anatomy and posture, for a given competence and experience of the breast radiographer.
