The Evaluation of Clinical Image Quality in Mammography
摘要
Mammography requires an important iconographic quality assessment, with regard to the extent and stretching of the acquired tissue. This chapter discusses the Perfect Good Mediocre Inadequate (PGMI) evaluation system, used in many European and non-European countries, including the posterior nipple line (PNL) parameter, comparing it with other systems. The topic of compression from the point of view of the pain experienced by the patient is addressed, and the compression values recommended in national guidelines worldwide are given.
