Soil Nutrient Content Estimation Using Hyperspectral Remote Sensing

IncreasingSoil nutrient content cropHyperspectral remote sensing productivity is necessary to feed the continuously growing human population. The availability of nutrients in soil mostly determines the yield of plants. Soil is the primary source for supplying essential nutrients to plants. The estimation of soil nutrient concentration is essential. Current soil nutrient estimation is obtained mostly through time-consuming and difficult field sampling and laboratory analysis. Another significant issue is that soil nutrient concentration changes from place to place, and this fluctuation cannot be determined with the existing technique. HRS has been utilised to detect and quantify soil nutrients to overcome this issue. Hyperspectral imaging captures and processes data as spectral signatures from objects or materials and find out the soil properties. The frequencies are determined based on the absorption and reflection properties of the objects. In recent decades, soil nutrients have been identified and measured using spectral absorption spectra. Consequently, HRS is quick, providing real-time findings, and online monitoring of samples in remote places is easy.
