Classification and Management of Mandibular Asymmetry: A Review of Past and Current Concepts
摘要
This paper analyzes the historical paper, entitled “Classification and Management of Mandibular Asymmetry,” written by Hinds, Reid, and Burch. This retrospective case series follows 17 patients with mandibular asymmetry from both the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, which included historical classification and accepted treatment modalities from that time. Current therapies in classification and management of mandibular asymmetry are included. In addition, special focus is made toward the original three authors, Hinds, Reid, and Burch, and their achievements in the field of orthognathic surgery. First-hand accounts of training/practice with these individuals are detailed by authors Wong and Taylor.
