Conclusions and Prospects for the Future

This chapter is the second of two materials dedicated to rebutting conceivable objections to the argument of this book revolved around a human-right policy for Nigeria in the wake of General Buhari’s departure from the political scene in Nigeria, an occurrence that for us heralds the decline of praetorianism in Nigerian politics dating back to 1966. The sole purpose of this final chapter, no different from any other finale, à la conclusion, is to recapitulate the achievements of the book with a look into the future. There are three aspects to the discussion: continuation and completion of the conceivable objections and rebuttals to the book’s argument, focusing on three remaining questions from the research questions that frame this study, restatement of the achievements of the book, and an introspective reflection into the future on an assortment of trends within and outside Nigeria, including the growing irrelevance of the Nigerian state, and mass youth exodus outside the country, in a changing world marked by permissive immigration policies by certain Western countries.
