Management of Wounds

Wound is defined as an injury that involves a laceration or a breaking of the soft tissues of the body; it usually implicates damage to the underlying tissues. The main challenge for an ER physician is to distinguish between the types of wounds that he is able to manage alone and those he is not (requiring additional resources). The discrimination is essential in providing the most appropriate care for the patients.
