摘要

In pediatric patients, the same fractures as in adults can be found. This chapter reviews the most common fractures and other lesions encountered in this age group (sprains, dislocations, etc.). Fractures of the long bones are common and usually require non-operative treatment, except in certain particular situations. Similar to adults, significant caution must be exercised when dealing with joint fractures and fractures around a joint in this patients age group. Special attention must be paid to supra-condylar fractures and dislocations of the elbow as well as to growth plate lesions (proximal humerus, distal radius, distal tibia for the most frequent).
