Ankle Fractures
摘要
Ankle fractures are usually secondary to twisting mechanism. They are categorized in: malleolar fractures (involving the lateral, medial, and posterior malleolus either individually or in combination), tibial plafond fractures (partial and complete articular fractures), and fracture-dislocations. A CT scan with 2D and 3D reconstructions is usually requested in pre-operative, especially for tibial pilon (or plafond) fractures. Surgical management is indicated for all displaced fractures, fractures at risk for secondary displacement, and open fractures.
