Fractures of the Tibia and Fibula
摘要
Fractures of the tibia and fibula may occur in isolation or in combination. They are located in the area extending from just below the anterior tibial tubercle to 4 cm proximal to the tibial plafond. Fractures of the fibula are often considered secondary, especially if they occur in the shaft. Associated lesions such as fracture site opening, neurovascular lesions, and compartment syndrome must be systematically investigated. Displaced tibial fractures (with or without associated fibular fracture) are usually surgically treated in adult patients.
