Assessment of Acute Knee Trauma

Clinical assessment of acute knee trauma includes: history and physical examination with testing for knee laxity using specific maneuvers. A thorough neuro-vascular assessment is first performed, and knee testing is only made after ruling out any bony injury or fracture through adequate radiographic assessment particularly in the presence of knee swelling, pain, and functional disability.
