Fractures of the Distal Radius

摘要

Distal radius fractures are very common injuries in the ER, especially in the elderly age group. Young adults may also be affected during sports, domestic, work, and road traffic accidents. They can be divided into three major varieties: extra-articular fractures (dorsal and volar displacement), articular fractures, and marginal fractures. Satisfactory functional outcomes are associated with the restitution of the anatomical distal radius configuration and the early restoration of the range of motion of the wrist and hand.
