Fractures of the Proximal Humerus
摘要
Fractures of the proximal humerus are common in the elderly. They rarely occur in sports practice, except for skiing, where they happen in younger patients. The use of CT scan plays a major place in identifying the injury pattern, especially for displaced 3- and 4-part fractures. ER physicians can initiate the treatment for the majority of proximal humerus fractures, as only 15–20% of cases typically require surgical intervention.
