Bone Consolidation
摘要
Bone consolidation or bone healing is the proliferative physiological process of fracture repair; it involves complex successive stages leading to the formation of a new living bone that bridges the fracture site. In adults, the consolidation time ranges from 45 days for the cancellous bone to 90–120 days for the cortical bone. Bone consolidation is usually defined according to radiographic and clinical signs: callus bridging of three or more cortices on two different radiographic views with absence of pain at the fracture site on palpation and weight bearing.
