Fractures of the Scapula

Fractures of the scapula are rare injuries, as this bone is normally well wrapped and protected by an important muscular envelop. They are rarely isolated injuries and are usually associated with other injuries in polytrauma patients. Scapula fractures can be categorized as extra-articular or articular. CT Scan with 2D and 3D reconstruction is essential for documenting and analyzing the fracture pattern, and is therefore crucial for guiding the therapeutic decision.
