Methods of Limbs Traction
摘要
Traction is usually a temporary treatment for certain fractures, used while waiting for the implementation of the final management strategy. However, it may occasionally correspond to the final treatment (patients with absolute surgical contraindications, some pediatric fractures, etc.). The general aim of traction is to align the fracture fragments and reduce inert-fragmentary motion in order to: relieve pain, reduce bleeding at the fracture site, and decrease incidence of neuro-vascular complications. The installation of a fracture’s traction system follows strict precautions and rules with respect to the technique and the accessories to use.
