Definitions

Traumatology (from Greek trauma, means injury or wound and logos: speech) is a branch of medicine dedicated to study the wounds and injuries produced by accidents or violence to the body, their mechanisms, their repair and surgical treatments, as well as their complications and sequelae. It is considered as a surgical specialty and is usually a sub-specialty of the orthopedic surgery.
