The zygoma is a thick quadrangular bone that articulates with the frontal, sphenoid, temporal, and maxillary bones and is commonly injured due to its prominence and location. Depending on the extent and location of the injuries, fractures of the zygomaticomaxillary complex can present with various signs and symptoms, resulting in functional and cosmetic complications. The primary goals of surgical intervention are to restore facial symmetry and projection as well as orbital volume and globe position.
